Laura Johnson, LPC-S
Laura is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Approved Supervisor (LPC-S) with a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling.
She has enjoyed working with children, families and adults in education and mental health for over 20 years and has been a counselor for 15 years. She specializes in working with all ages and currently provides therapy for adolescents and adults.
Laura uses a culturally responsive, strength-based, collaborative and trauma-informed approach, and utilizes techniques from Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) and a variety of other evidence-based therapeutic modalities and techniques.
She also has a special interest in incorporating art, sand tray and other expressive therapies into her work as she seeks to tailor the unique needs of each individual or group she is working with.
Areas of expertise include trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, coping with chronic illness and adjustment to life transitions.
She provides a warm and encouraging environment where clients can seek solutions and find healing that will bring about lasting change. Laura also loves being a mom, hiking, playing music, thrifting, Tai Chi and spending time with family and friends.
