Brittany Ruge, LMSW
Brittany is a licensed master social worker (LMSW) under the clinical supervision of Kaitlin Cox, LCSW-S. Brittany graduated from Baylor University with a master’s degree in social work. She is passionate about meeting individuals where they’re at, by utilizing client-centered, strengths-based modalities.

Brittany has experience utilizing skills and techniques from Motivational Interviewing (MI), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Brittany’s work with individuals is largely influenced by the concepts of Psychoanalytic Theory—which allows us to look at how an individual’s experiences have influenced the way they operate today, encourages further self-exploration, and facilitates an awareness of their own unconscious motivations.

Her most recent work has been with children and adolescents, working in the school-based counseling setting. She also has experience working with adults, families, and older adults in a transitional care setting. Brittany is committed to work alongside individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, women’s issues, adjustment and transitions, and grief. She strives to offer a therapeutic environment that is non-judgmental, accepting, caring, and safe. Brittany encourages individuals to be experts on their own lives as she works to maintain the humble position of walking alongside them in their journey.

When Brittany is not living out the social work side of her identity, she enjoys spending time in nature (hard to do in a Texas summer!), strength-training at the gym, listen to a good podcast, reading a good book, playing with her two cats, cooking and baking new recipes, and spending time with friends and family.
